“But straightway Jesus spake unto them, saying, Be of good cheer; it is i; be not afraid.” [Matthew 14:27]
“For the thing which I greatly feared is come upon me, and that which I was afraid of is come unto me.” [Job 3:25]
“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.” [Psalm 23:4]
“Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” [John 14:27]
“Today, people are something on the order like they was in the days when the disciples was out on the ocean. And one night a storm came up, and there wasn't nothing; all hopes was gone, that they ever be saved. And they seen Him come, walking on the--the--the water. Now their ship was water-logged, and the sails was broke, and the oars was gone, and they were holding one another, screaming. And they looked out there and seen Him come, walking on the water, and was scared of Him. Their only hope, and they were afraid of the only thing that could save them. If that ain't a true picture today, again! They--they thought it looked spooky. You know, they said they cried out, for fear, "Is was a spirit!" It looked too like spiritual. That's the same thing it is today. But if you'll just do like they did when they cried out; they heard that voice coming, "Fear not. It is i. Be not afraid. Be of a good courage." And if you'll just watch the Word of promise for this day, you'll hear that same voice speaking through the Word, "It's Me. I promised to do this in the last days. Fear not. Don't be scared. Put your trust in Me, the Son of God," Who He is. Believe it now.” [64-0404 Jehovah. Ireh 3, Louisville MS]
“Way down in Egypt God said, "I have given you that land and all that's in it." Now, He never just said, "I'm going to pick you up, take you up there, and set you down." They had to fight for every inch of ground they had. God when commanding Joshua there, He said, "Be of a good courage. Be not afraid; neither be thou dismayed for the Lord thy God is with thee wheresoever thou goest." The Lord thy God is with thee, wheresoever thou goest. No matter what it is, how hard it is, how great the obstacle is, that doesn't matter. If it's down through the valley of the shadow of death, the Lord thy God is with thee wheresoever thou goest. Oh, how Joshua could call Israel together and say, "Stand here and watch the glory of God." God is with His Word. God made the promise. God said to Joshua, "Every place that the soles of your foot set, that yours. I give it to you." Amen.” [57-0407M God Keeps His Word, Jeffersonville IN]
“Peter, he was doing all right till be got scared. The Word told him, he could walk on the water. He was scared first, he thought it was a--a ghost, and he said, "Lord, if it be You, bid me come to You on the water." Said, "Come on." Now, that's just the same as James 5:14, same as Mark 16. The same God said It, said, "Come on." And so he started walking. He done all right, got down out of the ship, started walking on... There was a storm on the sea, you know; great, whitecap waves, bigger than these hills around here, the foam breaking on top of them; terrific, maybe fifteen, twenty feet foam, the whitecaps breaking. And that was a terrific thing for him to ask, "If it be You, Lord,..." See, He looked like a... there looked like a shadow or a spirit. He said, "If it's You, bid me come to You on the water."  Jesus said, "Come on." And he stepped down, said, "It's the Lord, I'll just walk." But when he got his eyes on the waves, he got scared. What come in his mind? First thing, he... "I'm going to walk because the Word said for me to walk." And the next thing, he looked at his... well, he looked at his symptoms; he looked out there and seen how big them waves was, and he got scared; and when he did, down he went. See? What he feared, happened! What he believed, happened! When he believed he could walk, he walked; when he believed. Got scared in his belief, then his substance left him. See? He still professed his faith, but he didn't have the substance. The substance would have went right over top of that whitecap and went right on to Him, see, if he has the Perfect Faith. See? But he didn't have it. He thought he did. He did at first, he was willing to venture right out, "Why, the Lord told me to do it, it's got to happen." So he just steps right down out of the boat, and takes off. He never thought about the--the--the--the waves, how contrary they was. He never got that in his mind.” [63-0825E Perfect Faith, Jeffersonville IN]
“And as the waters pushed on, after while Jesus spoke and said, "Be not afraid. It's I." Peter said, "If It's You, Lord, give me just a little test." And ask and you shall receive. So He gave him the test, and when he tried to do it in himself, he failed, and every other man will fail. He got his eyes off of Jesus and begin to look how big the waves was. When he seen the waves were contrary, be begin to sink. And every man that will look at his affliction after being prayed for is sure to sink. You don't look at your affliction. You keep your eyes on the promise Giver, the Lord Jesus Christ. Keep your eyes on His Word. He's the One Who promised. He watches over It to perform it. He keeps it in the hollow of His hand, and in the depths of His heart it's bedded. His Words has to be True. Get your mind off of your sickness, off of your troubles. Keep your eyes on Jesus.” [55-0604 Jairus A Secret Believer, Macon GA]
“In the Book of Job, It says here, "Job feared." And what he feared, it actually happened. What brought it? His fear. That's what made it happen. His faith would have kept him from it, but his fear brought him... brought it to him. He was scared it was going to happen, and it did happen. Now, if been--he knowed it wouldn't happen, it wouldn't happen. See what I mean? If you're afraid when you come by the prayer line, "Maybe I just haven't got the faith sufficient"; it'll never happen, don't worry. See? But if you know it's going to happen, it'll happen. See? See, it's a substance of something. Job had a fear that these things would come upon him, and they did. If you have a fear that your disease is going to leave you... or won't leave you, it won't. If you have a faith, that it will. You ask any medical doctor. The first thing he'll try to get you to do, is to have confidence in the medicine he's giving you. If you haven't got no confidence in it, you better leave it alone. See? Sure! What is it then? It's faith that does the healing; it's faith that does it all the time.” [[63-0825E Perfect Faith, Jeffersonville IN]
“Now, you know, Christ's death had an absolute to it. Everybody was afraid of death, even the great prophet Job. Many of the people were afraid of death, a fear. And men always feared it. But when Christ come and took death upon Him, He become an Absolute to those who feared death. In Hebrews 2:14-15, "He took the form of man," to die like a man, to pay the penalty. But, on Easter, He came forth with the keys of death and hell. He had conquered it. He come, He said, "Fear not. I am He that was dead, and alive forevermore." And our Absolute is on Him, that's right, in Him. And He was the perfect Word of God. He was so perfect till, when He spoke His Word, it created. It stopped the winds. It--it made biscuits, and cooked fish, just by His Word. See? There was no hindrance. He was so perfect. He said the Word and He were One.” [63-0127 An Absolute, Phoenix AZ]
“Don't be scared. God's driving the winds. God's driving the ark. He has all things provided. Why, Noah wouldn't have had any victories, wouldn't have been storms and trials. If we're just put through a little safe tunnel to run through, there's no joy. The storms of life, what makes us have the joy. We'd never know what daylight was 'less we had some dark. We'd never know what a hilltop was 'less we had a mountain. We'd never know what good health was 'less you had some sickness. You'd never know how to enjoy salvation 'less you was once a sinner. God's made all things, the law of contrast. He loves you.[55-0522 The Ark, Jeffersonville IN]
